I haven't been online much, due to job constraints, but overall I am doing pretty well. Topamax is helping me quite a bit. My stomach has been going crazy, though, and I'm not sure why. I asked my family doc about it and he thought it was gallbladder related. Which is odd because my gallbladder and lack thereof has really not bothered me since April! Only certain specific foods will set my digestive system off! But oh my it really was going crazy for about the past month. Since it happened the same time I switched to Topamax I wasn't sure if the 2 were related. But, I also took a business trip about that same time where I was under a lot of stress and eating "questionable foods" as I like to call them :-(
Then I caught some kind of virus on top of that, and there was stress involved from getting my son back in the swing of the school year...
I went back on my extremely bland low-fiber diet just to get my stomach to calm down and that seemed to work. It's now pretty much back to normal. I just have to be really careful not to eat the things that irritate it. I WISH I didn't have to take these meds which seem to make it angry but there is really no way I can get rid of all my meds! I am down to Toprol XL, Topamax, Armour, and occasionally Relpax and OTC Tylenol (aspirin free). I think that is pretty darn good.
Yesterday afternoon I went to my massage guy (woo!) whom I've not seen in over a year! He had a kidney transplant and is feeling tons better now. I told him my whole saga of the past year. He noticed I lost a lot of weight due to my healthy diet. I said that was not intentional. I try to eat as much as I can; my tummy just doesn't tolerate large meals, grease or sugar. So I'm OK with being skinny for now. It's also nice to have a girlish figure again for when you want to wear a fancy dress. He checked out my lymph nodes and said I hardly have any lymph node swelling at all. He said I am his healthiest client!!!! That made me feel so good. Although I do have pain and my body is so bendable apparently the inside of me is squeaky clean and healthy. That made my day!!!! :-)
