My acupuncturist says:

This is due to "Low Spleen Energy" and my body does not have energy to digest food properly. He said to only eat warm cooked foods and to avoid cold and stress. He also told me to eat chicken and rice soup (which I do already) and gave me a few more herbs to try. The thing is with my EDS I don't know if this will be enough and I might need more medical help - so this is why I need the GI doc's advice. The way the acupuncturist described it was, "Your body doesn't have enough energy to deal with the stress that comes your way."

Hmmm.

I did find a few websites that described this low spleen energy and it is pretty much what my body is doing right now. Just not sure how to get rid of it all!

Not much new - but new appointment!

Not much is new except that my stomach continues to be super-sensitive. I finally made an appt. to the gastroenterologist. There was a gluten-free/wellness fair at our local hospital a few weeks ago and I discussed my digestion issues with the ladies who work at the GI doc's office. I explained what was going on and how I'd called them waaaaay back in March or so but I'd been sidetracked by the gallbladder probs and never made it back. I described the stomach pain and cramps and they wanted to know where the pain was located. I explained it was in the lower bowel area and they "OH you need to come in!" I wasn't sure if I needed a NEW referral or if I could just use the old one. I was sort of waiting to see if my stomach would calm down on its own. Considering it wasn't and it was going to take another month to get in I finally broke down and made an appt.

(This picture depicts how I feel when my stomach is acting up) :-(

My body seems to have 2 modes now: There is the old mode of super-slow digestion and migraines which I have had for about 10 years. Then, it will kick into super-fast digestion and stomach cramps with NO headaches but feeling so weak I don't want to do anything. At this point my concentration will be very low. So I sort of waffle between the two. I can't say which is better but I have had less headaches! My body seems to be incapable of finding a happy medium where digestion is at regular pace and there are no migraines and energy is at a steady level. Once I get the cramps to calm down through diet or stress control, it goes right back to the slow digestion and migraine pattern. Very strange.
